Description
A real NYC roadsign mod for GTA4
Latest version 1.2

This mod converts all the roadsigns in Liberty City to their real-life New York City equivalents. This project was started many years ago and I have had a great time creating this and updating it for the community. In summary, almost all of the highway traffic signs are replaced. This will be the third official release, this version includes LODS and updates a few textures and adds a few I missed in earlier releases. Additionally I have included an optional american.gxt and bus stop textures.

MOD STATUS
Areas changed
The Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, New Jersey and above ground subway entrance signs.
Full subway interior replacements have been completed and have been released here on gtagarage . Due to the scale of the project I have decided to release it as a separate mod, to be used in conjunction with this one. It can be found at

This mod features detailed, realistic improvements to the traffic signs. The new typefaces are the correct versions and the signs themselves have been researched to contain accurate directions and route information where possible.

There will be some things that people do not agree with, i.e the names of particular roads or highways etc, the best example being as how i have referred to Francis Int as LGA (La Guardia). However even if you do think that JFK is more appropriate this is not up for debate at the moment. If there is enough interest I may release alternate roadsigns for the airport area.
However, with this in mind I am interested in feedback. The scale of this mod means that there are over 100 files modded and over 500 separate roadsign textures included. I have not been able to confirm that every sign is in exactly the right place, or that every arrow points the right way. I would very much appreciate any comments people might have about this project and how it can be improved.

Thanks and enjoy.
