First 3D model. A simple ZModeler 1 cut and cover job on the original Vice City Rancher to remove the fibreglass canopy on the back. This is unrelated but similar to the Rancher in Grand Theft Auto IV, which also has a 'ute' style body as an option. I had actually never seen a picture of GTA IV's Rancher until I had already cut the roof from the vehicle!
As of this version, it is not entirely complete and will not work in-game (e.g. garages won't open, it won't spawn). Looks pretty good in ZModeler though, apart from the usual missing graphics in 1.07. Thinking of leaving this open for anyone to fix.
All up:
+ Removed the canopy.
+ Cleaned up the rear tailgate, damage model is not changed however.
+ Removed the blanked up rear window (you can see through it now).
+ Uses the original TXD file.
- No rear window.
- Damaged tailgate looks odd since the top parts are bent outwards (on a real pickup, the tailgate would simply fall down because of this).
- Tailgate still opens up the wrong way (it's a handling.cfg 'AE' flag, something I've never looked at before).
- LOD model not touched.
- No coll mods yet, just the DFF only (extract this DFF over a normal VC Rancher folder with TGAs etc. and fire up your model editor).
Updates:
0.2 - Fixed the height of the tray (part of the lower canopy was still showing), chopped the rear tailgate and damaged version to match, removed all of three polys to make the window behind the seats.
0.1 - Removed the canopy by itself.
